Lack of funding means many students cannot go onto further education. To help overcome that problem we are sponsoring over 45 students to take an Open University Course to obtain an appropriate degree.</p>
Last year the Dept. of Open University in Colombo agreed to the opening of one more campus of further / higher education in the Northern provinces. This campus is located at Mullaithivu.
This centre of academic excellence has agreed to offer a one year Access Course of study leading to the awarding of “The Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management” and another course called The Certificate in Social Studies. Upon the successful completion of these courses the students will be offered the opportunity of studying a Degree or Diploma course in their relevant field. Serendip is sponsoring 40 students. Furthermore, five students are sponsored to study a BSc Degree program & 3 students to read an Engineering Degree in Computer.
