Dear Supporters!!
As many of you may know, early this year, Serendip started a new project for children with Autism in the North of Sri Lanka. In the first phase, we sent a panel of seven teachers/health professionals to India (Chennai) to receive an intensive one month training in Special needs, particularly on autism.
However, as part of the next phase, the trainees have taken part in an important seminar that was organised by Serendip and the Department of Education for Special Needs in Jaffna. It was a two day session which included topics on documentation of Autistic students, speech and language therapy, learning difficulties and behaviour management and structured teaching.
We are pleased that it was such a successful seminar and we are hoping to design more in the coming months.
