    How to Get Involved

Sri Lanka has been hit hard by a series of crises. The 2021 economic downturn, worsened by COVID-19, has caused the cost of living to skyrocket and pushed millions into poverty. The World Bank reports that one-third of the population now struggles to make ends meet.

As the need for our services grows, so does the impact your support can have. Whether you choose to donate or volunteer your time and skills, you'll be directly helping those in need.

Explore the ways you can support our work below and find the perfect fit for your passion and skills.

    Volunteer with Us

    Serendip

Serendip Children’s Home is always looking for volunteers to join our team in the UK to take part in various activities. We are very proud of the dedicated volunteers who generously give us their time, and we want to ensure that you have the best possible experience being part of Serendip.

There are a number of ways to help us, depending on how much time you can allocate.

    • Be a regular volunteer (spending a few hours a week/ month, making long-term commitments, taking part in team meetings, and participating in project discussions).
    • On the day of the event (volunteers typically commit one or two days depending on event workloads).
    • Virtual volunteer (support for promotional activities and fundraising).

There is no age limit to joining our team.

    Serendip Intern Programme

    Serendip

We are looking for energetic and motivated interns who can help with events, sponsored events, raising funds, and great ideas.

Over and above the great work you will be doing, you will gain many skills, including teamwork, communication, and fund-raising. We would also be happy to provide a reference on the successful completion of a 12-week internship.

Your time and help can and will change lives. You will give those most vulnerable people in society a real chance of making a new start. On their behalf, we thank you.
