The Eldercare Programme

Thousands of elderly people in the North East of Sri Lanka do not have access to daily food, clothing or medical supplies and will often go without. All of them are frail, vulnerable and unable to work, with many who became disabled in the civil war. Sadly, many have also lost their own children during the war. They have no one to depend on or care for them in their old age. The Provisions for Elders Project seeks to help 1186 elders in villages in the districts of Mullithivu, Kilinochchi, Vavuniya and Jaffna. The elderly are provided with at least two meals per day, medicines and medical care, bedding, basic clothing and transport to attend medical appointments.

• Just £8 donation per month will feed 1 elderly person for the month.
• Just £96 per year will feed 1 elderly person for the full year.
